Our Story

Silk and Linen have always been my favourite textile fibers.

Linen’s crisp texture and natural breathability always did it for me…but Silk, there was nothing like it.

Its lush feel and natural lustre, simply made it ‘fabric-extraordinaire’.

Over time however, my appreciation for these fibers began to transcend mere aesthetics as an appreciation for the craftsmanship and detail that went into creating some of the garments I admired the most, grew.

The knowledge that both are also biodegradable and hypoallergenic, further appealed to a growing conscious approach within me.

But despite these, I often struggled to find clothing lines that offered versatile wear options for Silk, particularly.

Many designs felt either overly ornate and reserved for special occasions or merely simple without distinct character.

This led me to start to designing my own pieces using sourced Silk fibers while also working with local textile artists for desired print items- all as a creative and explorative outlet.

Enquiries from others who admired the designs and prints, subsequently inspired the birth of Silk & Ilk.

Every piece is designed with a deep respect both for the fibers and muse (You ) and is inspired by the confident, discerning Silk -lover who seeks a finer balance between simplicity and edge with at times, an unexpected dash of dare and adventure.
